I got a nasty surprise, whilst it initially seemed to work, I found the card would 'unload' for no apparent reason, then re-load, but the worst part was that this would trash all the images on the card, and I'd end up with a 'Lost.dir' folder, which recovery software could not restore - ouch. Rather than lugging extra hardware, I thought my tablet might be useful for reviewing and backing up (onto micro SD cards) when travelling, so before my last trip (to Cuba) I tested using the Samsung USB adaptor plug with a typical card reader (SD/CF). Whilst my situation involves a Samsung Tab2 10.1, I believe the same nasty problem has been reported with many other tablets, iPads as well.
